I have a series of use cases that were created in word, can I cut and paste them into the use case dialog?

Yes, I have a section called EXCEPTIONS and another called ALTERNATE FLOWS, where can I enter them on your template?

Open the "Properties" dialog for an use case element. In the tree (on the left side) select "Scenarios", in the Scenario pane select "Structured Specification" (selected by default).

You can first insert text description for each step of the use case basic path ("sunny day scenario")  via copy-paste from your Word document.

Then you can select any step and add either an alternate path or an exeption path to.
