Business Actors and Workers
« on: September 08, 2005, 08:51:24 am »
Hi

I'm experiencing the following problems:

1. - Whenever I stereotype an actor as Business Actor (actually by typing the words in the stereotype box) the stick figure correctly appears with the "crossed" head but the stereotype label is not displayed

2.- However, if I do the same for a Business Worker the label is displayed but the stick figure appears as a normal actor

3.- If I drag and drop any of the above actors into a sequence diagram the label "from Business Process Model" appears at the bottom of the lifeline as opposed to appearing just below the name or stereotype

Any suggestions? Is this a bug?

Regards

Ernesto

Probably the reason for that is, that BA is defined in Configuration/UML/Stereotypes (with an internal icon) while BW is not defined (thus does not appear in the drop down). You can assign the latter with the stickman in the circle (I use Metafile Companion for drawing EMF icons).

The second problem is (likely) that you have checked Highlight Foreign Objects in the diagram properties.

Thank you, Thomas, I'll try Metafile Companion.  For the other problem, yes, I've got the Highlight Foreign Objects checked, which is fine.  The problem is that the label "from xyz package" appears at the bottom of the lifeline, totally disjointed from the object name and stereotype at the top.  This only happens when dragging actors onto the sequence diagram.  Classes work well.  ???

You're right. Classes don't respect the flag while Actors do. This is due to EA's Unique Interface (;D as Paolo is saying). You might send a bug report and in the meantime turn off the flag for the according sequence diagramms.
