They've locked me out of the forum

After the forum software update I couldn't log in anymore. Seems like the reason was that my ID and display name were identical and contained a blank.

I wrote to Sparx support but got no answer, so now I registered again with a different ID. Of course I couldn't use my proper email address which keeps being used by another member (i.e. my old self). Had to take one of my garbage addresses. So I guess my old self will forever remain a zombie (I can't delete it either, of course).

I had a similar problem Frank.

Seems the combination of username and password would not work. I went to (somewhere in) the login sequence and did the old 'forgotten password' thing. I think it says my password would be sent to my email, but it generated a new one (just as good).

Try it and see.

PS: Note your 'stars' now, and again after you get into your old account.

I did the forgotten password thing too, and the forum machine sent me a new one. This didn't work either. So I waited till next (European) morning but got no answer to my support request (maybe they're flooded by requests from the other zombies).

Never having had many stars, this is the least of my concerns. I just wanted to get back, no matter who I am now or who I used to be before.

I find it strange that you're locked out.

I too have a message in to the YABB admin, and have no answer. My guess (entirely without evidence) is that they don't check that channel often. Perhaps you should send a registered support message.

In the meantime remember that being in the Land of AUS, they won't get the message for the next 4 hours.

I've sent you a PM containing an ID you should be able to log in using.

Alternatively you should be able to enter your email address into the user id field and log in that way.

I did send a registered support request and waited for 24 hours. Anyway, I could have logged in using my email adress, but I didn't realize this before it was too late. My password had been reset, I followed the link, and was told that my ID was invalid. That's when I started to feel fed up and decided to register myself a second time so I could post the problem in the forum.

The new forum software version had changed my ID because of the blank it contained, that was all. So now I have risen from limbo and have made my reincarnation delete itself.

Progress!

I had a similar problem, though somewhat reversed; in my case the fact that there was no space in the ID caused the problem. It does not look promising for a solution.
