Precision's value must be between 0 and 8!
« on: February 14, 2008, 07:39:22 am »
Hi,

I have successfully imported an Informix DB schema from ODBC. However I received the above message when I try to save text in the Notes area for a Column/Attribute with a datatype DECIMAL. The existing Precision = 12 and the Scale = 2, so why must this be altered ???

Is this a known issue, does anyone have a workaround :(

TIA

David

I received a fix via direct e-mail from SparxSupport (see below), works as expected now.  :)

Please collect the InformixDatatypes.zip from the attachment. Please open up EA and select the Tools | Import Reference Data menu option. The Import reference data dialog displays. Select the filename to import data from the attachment. After that try to save text in the Notes area for a Column/Attribute with a datatype DECIMAL.

Hope can help you!

Hopefully Sparx will post that file so others can use it.

And hopefully the information therein will be included in the EA 7.1 production EABase project, so we'll all have it in future projects.
