Elements change location in model
« on: May 14, 2008, 12:46:16 am »
Hi!

We have experienced that elements change location in the model without being moved. We think that this happens when the elements are dragged into a diagram. Because the elements then move to the same package as the diagram. This has happened several times. We use one eap file with version control that several persons are working on at the same time. The problem seems to happen when our network is slow. Has this happened to anybody else?

Some kinds of element will move with the diagram that they appear on, if they only make sense in the context of that individual diagram. Decision, initial and final nodes are such elements - you wouldn't re-use a decision node on more than one diagram...

Which of course should be documented under both the element type and diagram movement sections of the EA help...
No, you can't have it!

Which of course has now been done! Changes apparent with the next release of EA.

Which is, of course, why their name should be qualified and not left as "Initial".  That way, you'd be able to tell which of the Initial nodes was which...

Since these nodes which ARE diagram specific DON'T get nested under their specific diagram, it can get confusing VERY quickly...
