Build 831 moves diagram connectors and labels
« on: July 09, 2008, 04:41:37 am »
Noted on both Activity Diagrams and State Machines, as soon as you open a diagram in 831 the connectors are moved around, and zooming/unzooming the diagram compounds the issue.   :'(

Thanks.

I haven't seen the problem on any of the activity or state machine diagrams I've looked at.

If you haven't done so already, please send in a bug report to sparx systems as soon as possible, including either a model sample, or before and after screenshots.

There was another thread lately about autolayout on open ... are you sure that isn't what is hitting you?

Not sure... I just uninstalled 831 and reinstalled 830, and the problem went away.  Is there some new 831 feature that might be causing this?  Is "autolayout" a new 831 feature?

Thanks.

I'm not aware of any change that could be causing your issue.  Can you send an XMI export of a package showing the problems to sparx systems support?  I'd like to get this fixed as soon as possible.

Here is the thread in case you want to check settings.

Thanks Thomas,

I'm not concerned about that thread as it is an optional behavior during reverse engineering, and the behavior hasn't changed for a number of builds.

As far as I know there is nothing that should cause a diagram layout to be changed when loading a diagram, and it sounds like a possible regression issue in build 831.

In case this apports any additional information, when I open one Interaction diagram, when zooming it moves everything randomly, but when I open Sequence diagrams is is moved, not only the connectors (that begin nowhere and ends in a lifeline), but also the lifeline activation lines "dance" around, about an inch.

And it is not autolayout, because (as far as I know) autolayout does not work with Sequence diagrams ;)

If possible, can you send an example?  I've tried but can't reproduce it so far.
