The more I think about this the more I like it. There are so many cases where I need to dig these things up, it can become a real problem.

This could be extended to just about any properties dialog, and perhaps things like the Tagged Values window.

The GUID should be read-only, but in some form where the use can select and copy it as text. This would facilitate a lot of miscellaneous tasks.

David, why not make a feature request to Sparx on this. You'll find the Feature Request link below the Support link near the bottom of any forum page. If you get a reply from Sparx please post back here to let us know what they have to say on the subject.

David

[Yes, I know I could make the request too, but I'm hoping to get more users into the habit of making these. Besides, I'm sure Sparx could use a break from my constant bleating...]

If by Properties window you mean [Alt+1] then NO diagram properties are shown...

The behaviour of the Properties window is inconsistent (surprise!  ;)). If you select a diagram in the browser, the Properties window is NOT cleared and shows the properties for the last selected element (I know a diagram isn't an Element in EA).  If you select a connector on a diagram, then the Properties window is "cleared".  If you select the background diagram, nothing happens (again).

The Notes window [Ctrl+Shift+1] DOES show the notes for the appropriate item selected.

Since (In the case of my layout) the two widows are docked one underneath the other - it gets quite confusing...

As usual, Paolo makes an excellent point, while clarifying the discussion...

Actually, I was thinking of the F5 or control-enter type of Properties dialogs (to be more clear).

The Properties Window (or pane or whatever) from Alt-1 is another place this information would be useful.

And yes, the Alt-1 properties display is inconsistent, and that does need work. EAUI and all; guessing whether this will be resolved is left to the reader as an exercise.
