2 small bugs
« on: September 17, 2008, 10:06:02 pm »
First is concerning the tagged values window.

The "Show fully qualified tags" option present under "Tagged value options" in the "Tagged value view", results in hiding the dropdown box on the right side of the actual tagged value. I wouldn't think this is meant this way!?

Second is concerning the auto name counters.

If you set a name and alias counter for (in my case) requirements and iterate the type dropdownbox, the alias counter is not updated for selected types which do not have auto numbering configured.

How to reproduce:

  • select type "Requirements
  • Configure name and alias prefix, counter and/or suffix.
  • Click save.
  • Now select another type and note that the "name" field will be updated correctly and the "alias" field will not be updated if the selected "type" doesn't have alias auto numbering configured.

Not so small if you ask me.

Have you reported these to Sparx yet?

This is a user forum, and while the Sparxians are active participants, there is a 'formal' process to get bug reports to the right people fast.

Click the Report a Bug link below the Support link near the bottom of any forum page. Then fill out the resulting form and send it in. If you need to attach a sample file and are a registered user, you need to use a different page. You can find it by clicking the link above the form I just mentioned, or by clicking the Registered Users or Support links on any forum page, and following the appropriate link near the top of the resulting page.

Nope, didn't report it as a bug yet. I'm not that much experienced in EA that I am definately sure that things looking strange to me are really bugs.
So a post on the forum looked the right way to me to filter the non-bugs.

But if I am right in these, I'll report them to Sparx. I am a registered user.

Thx for confirming.

That's fine Marcel,

And you've done the 'correct' thing by starting the thread. That way the rest of the community can pitch in. Perhaps there is a workaround or something, and someone will post it here. The Sparxians may also participate in the discussion.

If you've not yet posted the bug reports, then when you do it would be a good idea to paste in the URL of this thread.

And if you hear back from Sparx on this, please post back to keep us all in the loop.

Good enough.

I should have 'revealed' this idea when I first suggested the report.  :-[
