Auto tidy when drawing/moving

Auto tidy allows me to have horizontal/vertical connectors when moving them. It does however not work when drawing them nor when moving the source/target objects. So I'm always readjusting my connectors afterwards to have good looking diagrams.
I do not understand why EA does not always tidy my connectors when I have this option selected. Or am I doing something wrong?
