Custom reference to diagram not shown in hierarchy

It is possible to add a custom reference from an activity to an activity diagram (in the project browser). Unfortunately, this relationship is not shown in the Hierarchy view. Other custom references from for instance an activity to another activity, are shown. :-/

Does anyone know why the reference to a diagram is not shown in the Hierarchy view and what other options I have (other than making the activity a composite element)?

The hierarchy view only shows relationships from one element to another.  Not from elements to diagrams.
