Status Dropdown display order ???

We've implemented some custom status values via General Types...Status dialog.

When you add to the dialog -- entries immediately appear in the dialog in alpha sort order.   BUT in UI elements (Use cases etc) which use the Status field -- the order in the dropdown list is not the same and totally non-obvious what controls it.   Does not appear to be either alpha or order of entry or dependent on where cursor was in list maint. dialog.

Anybody know how to control order of listing in the dropdowns for elements which use the Status field ?

I have the same problem, in list views and in the specification manager. I am using EA 13.5.

Use a tagged value with an enum instead.

OK, somebody, who has an idea! :) Cheers!

But I would prefer a confirmation that this is a bug and of course an announcement of a bugfix.
  • The usability could be better than with a tagged value enum,
  • the status colors for requirements are visible out of the box and
  • the database is smaller and faster with the built-in attributes.

On this occasion it should also be made possible to show the keywords as a column in list views and in the specification manager.

I want to use keywords as filter criterion.

PS: In this properties window the status dropdown display order is also wrong.

You're expecting too much. Bug fixing at Sparx is something not visible due to the sand storms around their premises. Or something along those lines. Try searching this forum for "bug tracker" and you might find complaints about it reaching back to 2005 (stretching in the old forum) or so. Just submit a bug report (see bottom of this page) for this and see what the reaction will be. Again: don't expect too much :-/
