composite elements and tagged values
« on: January 05, 2010, 02:15:22 pm »
Hi all,
I have been doing some modelling with the BPMN1.1 technology and have found that making a BPMN1.1::Activity composite causes it to use the tagged values from BPMN1.1::BusinessProcess.

Now, it doesn't appear to change the stereotype so the element still appears to be an Activity but I can't apply its tagged values, such as LoopType.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Andrew.

Andrew Warner.

Hi Andrew,

Seemed to work fine for me...

The composite activity retained the 40 odd tagged values and I was able to change the LoopType.

I'm running build 850 - are you?

Thanks Paolo,
not running 850 but 845. I'll have to get myself access to the registered users section and get upgraded.

I wouldn't be surprised if I've done something anti-social in my MDG file that might screw it up.

Cheers,
Andrew.

Can't think of any sequence of moves that might cause what you're seeing. However, try dropping "Activity" from the BPMN toolbox onto the activity element on the diagram and when asked choose to Apply the stereotype. That should update the tagged values for you and make the element "usable".

Thanks KP,
applying the stereotype worked nicely. Perhaps I, or one of my colleagues, did something to remove, hide or delete the tagged values by mistake when we made them composite.

Although, one of our plain Activities (i.e. non-composite) has no tagged values either...??

Cheers,
Andrew.
