EA keeps crashing and is very unstable.
« on: July 22, 2010, 10:35:21 pm »
We only recently purchased EA but in a short time it has become very unstable. I was using the UI part of the project and i kept getting error messages to do with Access and non existant pathnames.
I think I need to reinstall EA. But will I lose my existing work if I do?

No, just make sure you keep your eap file.

Also, please contact Sparx Systems support with more details of the issues you are having.

I found the problem was that I put EA on a network drive. The solution was to use EA on a local drive instead.

Just out of interest...

What happened if you used the network installation of EA with (non-Access) repositories? Did EA crash in those cases? And what about when creating new projects from templates stored in EAP files?

For that matter, does anyone know if a multiple license installation EA can be run from a shared drive in any configuration? This might be important for organizations that use centrally installed images (of whatever kind). What about Citrix and such?
