RTF documentation loses list formatting
« on: June 29, 2010, 05:45:11 pm »
Hi all,

my RTF reports in version 8.0 Build 858 loses list formatting (ordered as well as unordered) of notes (at least), e.g. use case and package notes. Can somebody confirm this behaviour.
I don’t know if this applies to other Build version or other elements/fields.

With EA 7.5 Build 850 the RTF report works fine with list formatting.

Thanks
Su

Tell me about it.
I have the same error, and it is driving me crazy.
(see http://www.sparxsystems.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1271389507/20#20)

I have done a bug report, but have little to show for it.

We have 858 on SQL server 2005.
When I export the package and try to recreate in a Jet4 eap file, with the model template, the bullets show OK.
When I generate the package in SQL Server repository with a system (supplied) template, the bullets show OK, but not with the model template.

Investigations are proceeding, but hugely time wasting.
I reckon that if sparx had a bug bounty I would have paid for our 10 licences!

I've done a bit more investigation, with little result, although I have created another bug report.

It seems that some, but not all of our model templates have this problem.
It also seems that colour formatting goes west as well when the problem exists.

What I can't figure out is where the bullet is in the style.

AND I can't figure out why EA did not use a named style for bullets, and for numbers, thus allowing us to customise them in the normal.rtf.

We use the virtual documents for our RTF reports. We have a master document and several model documents.
The documentation definitions (master and model documents, styles, etc) were created in EA version 8.0 Build 858 and we work with a JET .eap file.

Unfortunately, I am currently to busy for further analysis but I will do further tests asap.

I have seen your topic concering the checkbox "use style defined in templates".

We discovered today that this checkbox causes our problem with the list formatting.
I don't know if there is a changed behaviour as there was no problem with EA 7.5. Fact is, with this option off the list formatting in the generated RTF is OK.
