version Control settings Major issue
« on: October 27, 2010, 01:37:15 am »
hello,

our model that is accessed by 70 people, has just had a major issue.

the EA model is in a Sqlserver database and is versioned by TFS.

somehow the version Control settings were changed from TFS to SCC, and everyone wasn't able to access the repository with the correct setings.

everyone got the following message:

"This project uses VS config named 'EA', of type 'SCC', but the definition found on your PC specifies it as type 'TFS'.
Do you wish to modify the definition on your PC to match this project?"

how can one person change the VS config?

anyone else had this issue?

where are the setings stored? in the SQL server database?

how can I block this?

You might find what you need here (or related topics):

http://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/8.0/projects_and_teams/setgrouppermissions.html

You can restrict version control settings to certain individuals or groups.
