Duplicate entities on source import

Hi all,

I've imported some source files (c#). I already had some of the files in there already imported. When imported, used the settings: sync existing files.

When importing, it prompted if i want to "set the current package to be a namespace root". Not sure exactly what this implies, and said "yes".

Now I ended having duplicate entities for all the existing classes and there is no option (to my knowledge) to merge the two entities.

Cannot remove all and import as they are already used in different diagrams and also fixing it by hand is not something I am looking for as there are 20-50 classes in a number of diagrams.

Using EA 8.0.861

Usually duplicates are created due to a changed source location, I've dealt with ways to handle this in various posts, but won't go into it here as it doesn't appear to be your core issue.

Using automation you should be able to merge.  The complexity will depend on if there are additional connectors, classifiers etc.

But I must warn you, if you are not familiar with EA and it API then you're going to spend a lot of time trying to merge the two.
I think it will be more cost-effective if you start over  :-/
