Slow rendering on Linux
« on: January 05, 2011, 07:17:15 pm »
Hi.

I'm using EA 8.0.864 on Linux (openSUSE 11.3, X.Org X Server 1.8.0, wine 1.3.10). The rendering is very slow, nearly unusable when the diagram is large.

Does anybody know if this is related to a specific Wine or Xorg version?

The renderer to use in EA can be configured in Tools/Options/Diagram/Appearance. There are three choices; Basic, Enhanced-1 or Enhanced-2. Which one works best on Linux?

     Regards, Micke.

If EA slows down after opening a diagram.

Try changing the renderer type to "Basic"
The "Renderer" option can be found under
Tools -> Option - Diagram -> Appearance.

(This appears to be an issue with certain XOrg versions)
