Unable To Obtain Table Information

Hi, all

I'm trying to use the option "Import DB schema from ODBC source" with oracle 11g and Windows 7, but when I try to select the ODBC data source a popup appears saying "Unable To Obtain Table Information" and so, I can't use this option to make a reverse engineering from my database.

Somebody has any idea?, It's possible to import a db schema in windows 7?

NOTE: I have EA8.

Hi,

Those type of errors are usually due to
- The type of odbc driver (EA is really picky about that)
- Not having enough rights on the database (always seems to be an issue with Oracle)

I would also suggest to search the forums for keywords "oracle" and "odbc". That should result in quite a lot of posts.

I'm still having same problem.
I think it's something with windows 7 permissions.

Hi, maybe this helps somebody out there.

I solved this issued by uninstalling Oracle Client 11G (no certified version for windows 7) and get a new installation of Oracle Client 10g for windows vista/7.
