WAN Optimizer stopped working
« on: March 23, 2011, 03:42:03 am »
Hello,

we have an EA repository on MS SQL Server. We installed WAN Optimizer quite a time ago and it worked fine. At some point it stopped working we suspect due to users moved to newer EA version (8).

Now when connecting via WAN Optimizer we get following messages with failing to open the repository:

Microsoft OLEDB Persistence Provider [-2147287038]

There does not appear to be a model in this repository.
Do you wish to transfer a model to the repository?
Yes No

We cannot find anything in WAN Optimizer's logs either (not even a query log which is strange). We have also reinstalled the optimizer with the newest version.

Opening the repository directly from the SQL server works fine.

Any ideas what got wrong?

Thank you

Tomas

Although I am not able to help with your question I wonder if I would ask you a quick question as one of the few poeple I can find who has used the WAN Optimizer.

I have it running on a server connected to an Oracle DB this is fine.   I am useing Version 8 EA but I cannot find out how to connect the client app to the WAN Analyzer.

I tired open project, connect to server.   then I selected the oracle DB provider.  My question question is what do I need to add to this dialog as I dont intent to use it.

On the next dialog I get the option to enter the WAN location which I try to do.   However at this point it repeatly asks me for a password then after 3 attempts fails to connect.

Can I ask how you setup the connection to the WAN Analyzer?
