Help Menu completely blank

HI all,

I just installed Enterprise Architect 7.1 on one of the computer having Windows XP SP3.
After installation I select the Help menu and clicked on any of the topic and is blank.
I reinstalled thrice and still the same.

Kindly help me on this.

I recall some problems like this when the help file was being accessed via a network drive.  Is EA installed locally on your machine?

If you browse to the location where EA is installed and open the EA.chm file directly, do you see the contents?  How about if you copy this file into a temporary directory on your machine and open from there?  (E.g. My Documents)

HI Aaron,

Yes EA is installed locally on the computer.
I also try to open the ea.chm file from the below location where it is intalled and still the same. Help contents were blank.
C:\Program Files\Sparx Systems\EA\

Also saved it in My documents and nothing happend.
Install the same on other computer and was working fine.

Could be a problem that's occurred during installation.  Maybe try performing a "repair" on your EA installation from the windows Control Panel.

I already tried that and i havent received any error.
I also deleted the C:\Program Files\Sparx Systems folder and reinstalled.
But still the same.

no idea what went wrong on this computer.

Hi ,
I tried with the mentioned link but that doesnt help on this.

Am able to open other location .chm and .hlp files.
Problem is only on this C:\Program Files\Sparx Systems\EA\ea.chm file.

also tried repairing, reinstalling, re-registering the dlls and no go.

Help me on this!

I hate to say it, but 7.1 is many versions behind, many fixes have been made, many of us have upgraded, and 7.1 was a long time ago
