Although that may be an issue, Sparx Systems has nothing to do with the development of YaBB. It also accepts a username, so no-one is actually prevented from logging in.

But Sparx does configure YaBB.
Perhaps this is a configuration issue.
Alternatively perhaps it is a bug that is fixed in a recent release, and an update could fix the problem.
