Connect imported BPEL diagram to composite Activit
« on: October 27, 2011, 06:27:11 pm »
Hi

Being fairly new to EA I have run in to a problem incorporating an imported package to an old model. The scenario is as follows.

I am working on an Business process model describing different sales processes in a company. The top level of the model is a process map with all the different sales processes represented as composite Activities. Clicking on the activity will of course bring you to the process map (BPMN 1.1) for that specific sales process.

My problem is that one of these process maps where developed in another project and imported to this project using the "Import package from XMI" functionality. All the elements are available under the correct "top level composite activity" in the project browser but I can't find a way to replace the (empty) activity diagram that the composite activity is pointing to with the imported process diagram.

I can of course drop the imported process diagram on the empty activity diagram as a "Diagram frame" (or as a link) but that would mean that the way this process is handled in the project differs from all others which is not optimal....

So is there any easy way to do this?

One more note. The imported diagram is BPEL 1.1 and not BPMN. Not sure how that could be relevant but I mention it anyway.  :)
