General Board / SQL server initial connection

Hi all,
Ive got EA4 demo and am running in Enterprise mode.  Im trying to create a project in SQLServer2000 but am not getting there.

I can use SQLclient toolls to browse DB and create tables using NT authority.

Ive tried using a named data source (results in Invalid ODBC Data Source, check ODBC configuration) and OLE DB Provider for SQL Server, resulting in "Invalid object name 'usys_system'".

Ive yet to find any magic SQL install script or other configuration information, does the schema get auto populated on first connect?

Anyone got the SQLServer connection working?  Is it an SQLServer2000 issue, there are no usys_ tables

Might ahve to try another db, anyone had success with MYSQL ?

Thanks,

andy

OK, that was easy.  So we are talking about the File/Diagram menu, not a right click diagram menu  :-[

case closed.

Hi,
The EAExample, when loaded, takes you to an arbitrary welcome page.  How do I do that?

I've scanned all the properties assocaited with the diagram and project with no avail.  The online help has nothing helpful under welcome or start page   ???

Anyone been there done that? Thanks muchly!

Thanks for that, Ive gone through by hand removing all the cruft(TM) and the result looks a lot more readable.  EA knows when an item isn't referenced anywhere (context menu 'Locate in current diagram' being disabled) but doesnt ease the job of keeping the project tree tidy.  I've requested a feature to allow this.

General Board / Diagram/Project Tree synchronization?
« on: April 21, 2004, 05:09:09 am »
Hi,
Ive created my first real EA project and one thing I keep noticing is that when I create a diagram and add an item that I subsequently remove, it remains listing in the Project Tree.

Can anyone shed light on why this is so?  Must I delete unwanted items on the ProjectTree if I delete them from the Diagram?  Is there a perge facility to do this painful task?

Cheers,
andy.
