General Board / Agile - Use Cases, Scenarios and Stories
« on: November 25, 2010, 01:32:06 am »
Hi,
I'm transitioning a project that started off as waterfall to agile.

I'm seeking guidance on how best to represent stories in EA, especially with regard to visability in the generated HTML output. Further down the line I'll need to know how to get these grouped as a product backlog to go into sprints.

So far I've tried modelling stories as features and as scenarios within the use case. Features seem to be preferable as scenarios are hidden in the depths of the use case and aren't very visible in the HTML output. Anyone got any experience of doing this?

I'm trying to create a web site that contains business use cases, linked through to use case packages.  For each package I want the test cases for each use case plus the implementation estimates.  Using the standard documentation features I don't get test cases linked to a use case or any estimation information.  Is there a simple way of getting this?

General Board / Link process to sequence diagram (drill down)

I have an analysis diagram and I want to link a process on that diagram to a sequence diagram in another package.  Can I do this?

The element set parents option isn't available for any of the items I want to link - e.g. package to process.

Is this all geared at producing code rather than documentation?

Is there any way to include notes (i.e. for a class) in automatically produced documentation (HTML or RTF)?

Is there a simple way to get a diagram displayed as default in the right hand frame everytime a package is clicked in the index (top left hand frame)?  At the moment I have to click on one of the diagram icons in the bottom left hand frame.

When creating a use case I am using constraints to add pre and post conditions
Is there a way of adding attrributes such as goals and failed end conditions?

General Board / End to end business processes

I am mapping end to end business processes.

One key requirement is to identify data that is common accross platforms.  What is the best way of doing this?

I have tried to do this on a sequence diagram with applications defined as objects but I can't see a way of picking up data passed on messages from a shared repository so that it is obvious that it is common.

I want a report that shows all use cases that don't have any linked requirements. How do I put IF type clauses into the RTF generator?

I've linked requirements to use cases using the relationship matrix; a link type of realization, the use case as source and the requirement as target

Any suggestions? Currently I'm having to get a report of all use cases and then cut and paste the names of those without requirements  :-[
