All the model templates are available in Help File. As a business analyst you typically need to work with Business Domain Model, Process Model, Formal Requirements , Non-Functional Model. EA Example files gives a better representation

Thanks KP,

Don't you think a list should be made available so that people can use it without trial and error.

Let me be more specific.

If you use 'Add model using wizard'. It opens up the select models(s) tab and you will see the list of standard templates along with an icon in front of them which represents the type of diagram it is.

Now I have created a standard template for my organisation and referenced it in model.xml so that it appears in the above list. However the icon that it is showing is for some other type of diagram. This is because we have to give the icon number of the specific diagram in model.xml. I am looking for this icon list.

Hope this may make things more clear.

I am looking for the Icon numbers for the icons used in EA. The model.xml file uses icon numbers to get the icon image. I guess each icon has a icon number. Can anybody help? Their should be a list showing a number representing the icon

Hi,

I guess, from looking at the .jpg and your exepectation, EA is not the right tool. You can try Visio which is more suitable and has got most of the images built in, which EA lacks. May be we can even ask sparx system to provide more flexibility of using images for modeling.

General Board / Re: Problem transfering EAP to DBMS

Yes I was able to transfer it to SQL server. It was long back.

Are you able to transfer other .EAP files. Try transferring the Example.EAP file that comes with EA. This will help you isolate the problem if it is with that particular EAP file.

The same thing happened when I first transferred into SQL server. Possible reasons:

-some issues with the diagram elements, try running integrity check
-you are transferring thru replica, try using master. our try removing the replication and then transfer

good luck
