General Board / Two ways to draw an object?

I have been able to use EA to draw an Object by dragging a class from the Project Browser and specifying it as a new instance.  It illustrates an object with its type as I expect.

When I use the Object element out of the Communication pallette of the toolbox, I cannot figure out how to indicate its type.

Should I always be pulling a class from the browser when I want to create an object and specify its type?  Am I missing something?

General Board / Action vs. Activity

Can someone explain to me when you would use an Activity vs. an Action?

My initial impression is that an Action is a lower-level of granularity than an Activity.

Additionally, I THINK I could use actions to describe the steps within a Use Case.

So, an Activity may have multiple use cases associated with it.  A Use Case may have multiple actions associated with it.

Of course, a given use case may have multiple Activities associated with it, but it would not be the usual case.

Literally, I want to model all aspects of :

- cubes
- facts
- dimmensions
- reports
- security models
- good old fashion component and deployment diagrams

I think a class diagram serving as a data model serves some of my needs.  I have some idea of what I think I need to do.  I am just wondering if anybody has an opinion or perscription for what and how things should be modelled.

Thank you both.  I THINK you are both answering differently.

Maybe I should ask a more specific question.  Is <<use>> a stronger association than simply an association?  That would be my guess.

So, I can see using <<use>> most of the time, and a simple association when an actor is playing a secondary role, or receiving the benefit of the use case.  So, I would interpret <<use>> to be the actual trigger.

Any further thoughts on this?

I'm not sure when it is appropriate to use "Use" versus "Association" when I want to illustrate that an Actor triggers a use case.

I tried using the help, but couldn't find what I needed.  Any help would be great!

I can't seem to delete the Diagram Notes on my diagrams that were automatically put there.

I found the setting to stop them from appearing on new diagrams, but I can't seem to change existing diagrams.

How do I remove the notes?

I see my company name as a watermark on all diagrams.

I think I inadvertantly did this and don't remember how.  Can someone tell me how to remove it?

I want to modify the HTML report that is generated by using the following menu items:

Project | Documentation | HTML Report

I see there is a drop down choice for Style, but <default> is my only choice.

Specifically, I want to remove sections for ADVANCED on my pages.  It shows a GUID that is not meaningful in my particular view of the documentation.
