Suggestions and Requests / Re: Export to Doors
« on: January 30, 2007, 11:23:19 am »
I have tried the DOORS Addin and it works well... for importing requirements into EA from DOORS. As stated above, I also would like to be able to create my requirements in EA and export them to DOORS.

Is there any plan to add this functionality in the DOORS addin or create an add-in for Reqtify de TNI ? I believe that Reqtify could provide that functionality.

This is a probably a showstopper for my company that is heavily linked to DOORS.

General Board / Re: Reverse Engineering with Macros
« on: January 11, 2007, 03:02:49 pm »
Yes indeed I am trying to get macros recognized during a source code import. I will get back to you on the macros...

Concerning the source code import : You are absolutely right about the source code being loaded at each import... BUT this is difficult to know since the output window is not refreshed at each import AND no timestamp is associated with the parsing errors. I assumed that the output window was refreshed at each import and that the error messages I was getting were current. Also, a successful import results in NO output. (???)

Thank you for your prompt reply.

General Board / Reverse Engineering with Macros

When attempting to import source code, EA only sees the original files. If I cancel the import, modify a header file and redo an import, the new change is not seen !

I must close EA and restart it in order to see the change.

General Board / Tools lost when switching to ICONIX layout
« on: May 12, 2004, 07:50:42 am »
Using the View/CustomLayout menu, I temporarily switched to the ICONIX layout.  A prompt appeared indicating that the change would "possibly rearrange the UML toolbox folders".  I clicked okay and the screen was reorganized and several tools disapppeared from my toolbox (e.g., Collaboration, Boundary and several other icons no longer appear under Use Cases).  I switched back to the default layout and the screen reorganized but I did not get the tools back.  I ran Repair in the installation file, but this did not fix the problem.  How do I get the default toolbox back? Do I need to change a profile or a registry setting somewhere?

At this stage I do not have the Agile ICONIX add-in for EA.  Would you point me to where I can get it?  BTW, I normally create my robustness diagrams as analysis (not activity) diagrams.  Will this present a problem using the Add-In?

Sorry for my lack of clarity.  I am looking to take the latter approach outlined in your message -- that is, populate a sequence diagram with the objects from a robustness diagram (boundary and entity) and then add the messages manually to the diagram.

Has anyone figured out how to automate the generation in EA of a sequence diagram from a robustness diagram?  On page 92 of his book Use Case Driven Object Modeling with UML, Doug Rosenberg includes a script that does this in Rational Rose.  I am looking for something similar that I can use in EA.
