Hi Simon

Do you have any plans to include it in version 9?

Hi

Having the ability to have an Alternate flow coming off an Alternate flow would be very useful.  At the moment you can only have this off the Main flow and is proving very annoying.

I would also love this option, it is a real pain not being able to select individual and multiple steps and copy them to a new scenario.  Would reduce the amount of time writing or working around massively.

Suggestions and Requests / Feature Request - Priority Values
« on: September 03, 2009, 10:06:16 pm »
Hi

I would like to request the ability to edit and create new priority values for requirements.  Currently I beleive this is not possible and it would be of great help.

Also it would be beneficial to be able to edit all drop downs.

Thanks

General Board / Level numbering in Diagrams
« on: December 01, 2010, 04:07:20 am »
Hi All

Currently I am using level numbering for requirements within the project browser as it allows chopping and changing requirements and sub requirements without having to edit the req numbering manually.

However, I have had requests from my team to have the same level numbering displayed on the requirements within the diagram.  It would make it a great deal easier to deal with large numbers of requirements.  If anyone has any suggestions, would be grateful to hear them.

cheers

General Board / Re: Using EA with Agile
« on: October 12, 2010, 03:03:27 am »
I was thinking of using EA in a similar manner to RainerQ.  This way we have a central record of user stories that can be generated out to csv if necessary, but also linked to requirements if need be.

Be interested in any other suggestions also.

General Board / Using EA with Agile
« on: October 09, 2010, 12:56:16 am »
Hi All

I was wondering if anyone had any experience or suggestions of using EA with AGILE development?  I am still in the process of formalising how we are going to use EA for our main project work (we have a third party do most of our dev and as such rely on req docs and use cases to convey what we need and store all of these in a centralised Repository accessed from locations in 3 different countries).

However soon we are starting on an Internal Dev stream and I would be keen on suggestion on how we could use EA to work with a more Agile methodology.

I realise that there will be less documentation involved, however we don't want to fall into the trap of having some of our projects documented to a great level of detail and another set with no documentation and having no relation to our EA repository.

Any help or suggestions welcomed :-)

General Board / Re: Visio Business Process Modelling Conversion

Appreciate the help guys, looks like a lot of the add ons I attempt to use are for 6.5 as opposed to the current version.  Are the MDG add ons maintained by Sparx or the third parties?

Hi

I have seen that there is a plug in for converting uml digrams in visio over to EA.  Is there a way I could use that to convert .vsd to XMI files?  Or alternatively is there something else that could be used?

Bugs and Issues / Error in Initializing Provider
« on: August 11, 2011, 07:47:50 pm »
Hi

I have 3 people all with Windows 7 having issues with connecting to our server repository.  They get an error as soon as they try to test the connection "Error in Initializing Provider"

I have no issue, but am using XP.  They have the same Oracle client, tns.ora and sqlnet.ora files as myself.

They are able to ping and telnet the server and using the Oracle connection client, can connect to the oracle database.  This leads me to think that the issue is with EA.

Has anyone had a similar experience or an idea on how to resolve this?

We are starting to roll out windows 7 to the whole team shortly and I cant have my team with no connection to the repository!!

Cheers

Bugs and Issues / Use Case RTF Issue
« on: January 28, 2011, 09:19:21 pm »
I am attempting to create a Use Case template for my company using the standard Use case template included in EA as a starting point.

One of the things I would like to alter is how the structured specification is displayed in the RTF.  Currently it displays the steps as below:

Basic Path:
1 Player does this. 2 System does that. 3 Player does this. 4 System does that. 5 Player does something else.

I would like it to display it as a list:

Basic Path:
1 Player does this.
2 System does that.
3 Player does this.
4 System does that.
5 Player does something else.

Is there a way to do this?

Cheers

Bugs and Issues / Re: Diagrams in a mess
« on: November 26, 2010, 08:56:46 pm »
Sorry, but wont be able to get before and after, as we have quite a few diagrams and there doesn't seem to be any pattern in what diagrams are affected.

We aren't using the WAN optimiser option on connection to the server.  Would that help?

Hi Geert

Sorry for the lack of detail.

Users save their diagram (diagram is correctly layed out) and the next time they open the diagram (usually after several hours), the elements are randomly placed on the page.

No zoom has occurred (this was my first thought)and no additional relationships have been created.

Currently the issue has been reported on both requirements and activity diagrams.

No further details I am afraid.
