Suggestions and Requests / Re: Activity Based Costing
« on: January 29, 2008, 12:39:55 pm »
I have opened the model before and understand how I can reverse engineer it. My question was more to your second point of an explanation of the model and what each table/column is used for.

Thanks for the responses.

I am asking if EA supports Activity based costing on a business process (e.g., manfacturing). I know EA can model the process, add the metadata to each activity, and has a estimator for use cases. I am asking if there is a module or addon to perform ABC on activity diagrams/processes.

Thanks,

Scott

We are going to upgrade everyone to 802 and see if this improves the corruption problem.

No we dont have any other issues with files getting corrupted. And there is no noticable pattern at this time. Since i dont really know what is going on with the file, or when iti s happening due to the fact the keys are good for 3 days. Therefore the file could get corrupted a day before we even know. That is part of the problem. Very few people are trying it over VPN so i dont think that is the problem

I am glad to hear you are not having any problems though.

We a sskeys.dat file on a network share. It is becoming currupted at least once a week, such that users can no longer aquire/renew their keys. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to improve this situation?

Thanks,

General Board / Re: using subversion for version control
« on: December 16, 2006, 09:59:06 am »
You need to setup a subversion working folder on the new client computer. Then configure a version control settings in a ea for that working folder. Then you can use the get package feature under package control to pull down the xml from subversion into a new eap.

let me know if you need more specific steps.

General Board / SAP BW Export into EA using CWM?
« on: December 14, 2006, 01:24:06 pm »
I am looking for some help. According to SAP I should be able to export BW information in OMG's Common Warehouse Metamodel (CWM). And according to other topics here CWM is supported by EA. Has Anyone gotten this to work. It would be huge for us to be able to reverse engineer our BW system.

Here in the info on SAP Export:

General Board / Re: Configuring Version Control
« on: December 11, 2006, 04:55:45 pm »
We have worked on this problem. We have a subversion repository on a server, as well as the svn.exe. You can point EA to the SVN.exe on the server. Once it is configured, it will remain across EAP's (its a registry setting).

You then need to create folder in subversion . YOu can either your svn.exe or a tool like tortiseSVN. Then do a checkout to create a working folder. Once you have the working folder, then you can tie your model to the subversion repository via version control/package control settings.

Hope this helps,

Scott

I have imprted the metamodel from OMG. Its nice that i can see all the elements but it really doesnt show me how to use them.  Would you suggest somethingelse for warehouse modeling. I am interested in it because SAP and Cognos both say they support it, and could be a valuable modeling langauge to support our efforts.
