Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / MDG Eclipse problems

I tried to evaluate EA the last days, we're searching for a good UML tool in our company and I thought EA was well worth a try.
The EA itself works quite well for our needs (except for the run, I'm providing a class path that contains over 30 jars and run fails). But the MDG link fails on more or less anything I do.
I'm using the latest version of EA and MDG Eclipse and I'm using 3.1.2 or 3.1.1 version of Eclipse (tried both).
Switching to source sometimes succeeds (extremely slow), merge screen does pop up, but everything else fails (build-run-generate(sometimes, but very slow)). The connection gets lost all the time, Eclipse sometimes starts up several times from EA, I'm getting automation errors and block errors, null errors...
I don't think this is quite normal, so can anybody help me with this or point out what goes wrong?
