General Board / 5.0 RTF Generator
« on: June 02, 2005, 10:37:31 am »
I am new to EA 5.0 and the RTF Generator.  I have been using EA 4.0 for over a year now.  Yesterday I upgraded to 5.0 and decided to see what kind of reports the RTF Generator would produce.

I am getting lots of lines like "...insert Tagged Value content here...", "...insert Tagged Value content here...", "...insert Connector content here...", "...insert Source content here...", "...insert Element content here...", and "...insert Target content here...".

It looks like every place that I have any of these items, instead of placing the value, it is placing the above text.

Has anyone had this problem?  If so, then how did you fix it.   ???

Thanks!

General Board / Tagged Values
« on: June 02, 2005, 07:12:07 am »
We were using EA 4.0 (March 2004 build).  In the use case model, we were storing the business rules as a tagged value for each case.  (There are more than 1 tagged value of 'business rule' type.)

Yesterday we purchased 5.0 and installed it.  When I imported the 4.0 .eap to the 5.0, we lost our ability to edit multiple tagged values with the same type.  In the tagged values screen, only one "business rule" is displayed and there is no way, that I can tell, to make changes to the other "business rule" values that are not displayed.

Does anyone know how to edit the other values that are not displayed if they have the same tag type?

Thanks for any help!

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / RTF Editor Templates
« on: February 14, 2006, 07:48:58 am »
I am trying to create a template that will include a title page, lots of text, and the Use Case Scenarios.  I would like to create to break these up into 3 seperate templates and join them together to run them at the same time.

I have been playing with the Virtual Documents, but they are used with Linked Documents, from what I can tell.  The templates that I have created are RTF Style Templates.

Is there a way to join the RTF Style Templates to run the report one time and in the desired order?  Can you nest these style templates?

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / RTF Template Seperate Elements
« on: February 14, 2006, 07:52:35 am »
I would like to have the Actors in a different part of my document.  Actors are Elements and I don't see a way of pulling just those elements out.  I have read other posts of creating a new package for just the Actors, but we really don't want to have to take that additional step.

Is there any way to tell the Generator to just pull out a specific type of element to display?

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / Re: Syncronizing Code Files

We have looked at the local paths, however, I am not sure that meets our needs.  We are coding in C# and have many different namespaces.  Each namespace has a class model that will point to a different physical path on the developer's computer.  How will the different packages know what local path to use?

Thanks for any help you can give us!

We are using the Corporate Edition EA 5.0 connecting to SQL Server.  We have 5 developers using EA making changes to classes and coding classes.  We are having a problem when we reverse engineering code to sync up our class models.

Each of us have our folders set up differently and we are having a problem syncing them up after the first sync.  It seems like EA is storing the path somewhere and we can't seem to change it or remove it so other developers can sync the same class at a later date.

Has anyone had this problem or know how we can resolve it?

Thanks!
