Bugs and Issues / Re: qea files visible in EA but not Windows Explorer
« on: February 21, 2025, 08:37:23 pm »
Mystery solved...

For reasons I assume only our IT department can explain, .qea files are created in a hidden App Sense Virtual folder which partially mirrors the unhidden directory I had selected. From the EA file dialog it shows both the virtual and real directory contents as if it is the real one hence the confusion. A full drive search for the .qea file name discovered the hidden location.

Bugs and Issues / qea files visible in EA but not Windows Explorer
« on: January 31, 2025, 09:05:31 am »
I've created multiple qea files which are all visible in the EA open project dialog window however none of them can be seen in Windows Explorer. From EA I can open the file properties and they have size and all of the normal attributes of a file.

Any help much appreciated!

Can anyone recommend a clever way of balancing information or data flows between hierarchical diagrams, other than manually checking? I'm using the 'Information Items Conveyed' feature to load my items onto the flow but ideally would only do that at the leaf activity level and have the branch and trunk level activity flows be either automatically populated or a tool to identify inconsistencies.

An illustration of what I mean - Parent diagram:
                        ------------------------------------------
                        |                                                  |
 -----------         |      ------------            -----------    |         -----------
 |  Act 1  |-------|--->|  Act 2  |-------->|  Act 3  |---|----->|  Act 4  |
 -----------         |      ------------            -----------    |         -----------
                        |                                                  |
                        ------------------------------------------

Child diagram of 'Act 2':
                         ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
                         |                                                                                            |
  -----------         |      --------------               -------------                 -------------    |         -----------
  |  Act 1  |-------|--->|  Act 2.1  |---------->|  Act 2.2  |----------->|  Act 2.3  |---|----->|  Act 3  |
  -----------         |      --------------               -------------                 -------------    |         -----------
                         |               ^                            |                                             |
                         |                |______________|                                             |
                         |                                                                                            |
                         ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apologies for the ASCII art! Couldn't find another way of drawing what I mean.

So here the flow between 'Act 1' and 'Act 2.1' on the child diagram would need to balance with the flow between 'Act 1' and 'Act 2' on the parent.

Any suggestions?
