Suggestions and Requests / aliases for messages

Im making models in two languages, namely dutch and english. Im using aliases in the diagrams so i don't have to make the model twice but this feature isn't available on the messages. Any chance of including this?

Hi people,

Can't find it in the documentation so i hope one of you knows the answer. When i create a test (be it a unit, integration ,etc) i can't choose a "run by" or a checked by". Both drop down boxes are empty. Can anyone help?

General Board / going from 4.51 to 6.0

Hi,

Couldn't find an answer to this on the website so i thought i'd ask it here.

Our company is switching from 4.51 to 6.0. I'm the first person to make the switch. Everything seems to work as before, but we want to be sure that no model elements etc have been lost. Is there any way to check if any data has been lost?

General Board / Including a file in EA

Hi,

Im using the professional edition and I know i can include a document (for example, a word file or an xml example) through a hyperlink or as a link in a diagram in an element.

Problem here is that the document remains external. What i mean is that if the document is moved, without updating the link in EA, the document will not be displayed. Also, if i move the .eap file to another network it naturally won't be able to find the linked document(s).

Is there any way to incorporate a file into EA (maybe in the corporate version)?

hi,

is there a way to define object attributes in EA? It's easy to create an instance of a class, but i can't find a way to create an instance of an attribute. I'd like to be able to do the following

Class: Person                            
Name: string
Age: int
Adres: string

and change that into an object

Karl: Person
Name: Karl
Age: 26
Adres: Gooimeer 26

looked for the option for ages but can't find it anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

General Board / Displaying aliases in the project view

Hi,

Im using the aliases in EA as a way to make the models multilingual. All the names are in Dutch and the English names are in the aliases which works great. However i'd like to be able to do the same in the project view. In the main window you can choose to display the alias if it is available (f5). Is the same possible in the project view?

Thanks guys, had someone from support look at my pc yesterday. Turns out its not only EA that is playing up so i think it a problem with my laptop.

Cheers, I am running norton but so is everyone else here.So far i know im the only one within the firm with this problem but im loosing quite a bit of work and im having to back track every time to see what has been saved and what has been lost. Anyobody know the specific directory?

I'm having frequent crashes (about every 1,5 hours or so). It says that a critical error has occured and that EA is creating a log file. However, I cant find the log file. Any idea where this is placed?

I think you're referring to a uml pattern. You need to create a uml diagram first and save it as a XML pattern. You can then import it into any project and use it in any model. There's more about this subject in the helpfile. Hope this helps....
