Suggestions and Requests / Re: BPMN
« on: May 11, 2010, 07:10:11 pm »
Count me in on this one, I need to be able to show non-interrupting events and can't seem to find them in EA.  Any estimate for which release we'll see BPMN 2.0 notation supported in?

General Board / Re: RTF Numbering has wrong Style!?

If you're using List numbering have you tried changing the Font in the Edit, Edit List Overides, Edit List Level?

This is what I had to do to get mine to match my heading

I've found outline numbering a total nightmare in EA I have to confess, especially when working with virtual documents

Also I found reading the White Paper "Working with the RTF Generator" helped somewhat althought the documentation around this part of the product is sketchy to say the least.

General Board / Setting up models from SVN repository
« on: December 22, 2009, 02:03:25 am »
Hi all,

I'm using EA 7.5, latest build with SVN

I have a team of analysts working remotely and offline on customer site so I've gone for a central SVN repository where they will check in and out to a master project but with their own private working models

I've managed to get my main model under SVN control and it's up on the repository as per instructed. So I've then created a working directory on the users machine and checked out the repository into it, no problems there either.

Now I can't actually find anything that tells me how to complete the next step which is how the users actually access the model thru EA on their own machines

What I've done as hit and miss is created an "empty" project and then right click the model and selected 'Package Control', 'Import a model branch'

Is this actually the correct way to do this as I then end up with an empty model that I have to delete?  It seems to work ok with check out and check in etc

Bugs and Issues / Re: Report Generator runs out of memory
« on: March 06, 2010, 02:46:58 am »
RTF generator that ships with 7.5 is flaky to say the least.  We've had terrible problems with it for producing any kind of professional documentation.

We had an almost identical issue with a 210 page report and in the end I had to split it down into several smaller generated reports and stitch them together in word.  There were all sorts of other issues with formatting and line spacing too which have been driving me insane

It has added hours to the project and we've missed 2 milestones on our critical path because of it.  It's great that EA captures all the information but from a Business analyst point of view if I can't get professional looking requirements docs out of the product it's useless to me.

The time and effort spent trying to sort out RTF reports will soon add up to us purchasing a more expensive peice of software that is actually up to the job.
