Suggestions and Requests / Check-in package in TFS

Hi.

I think it would be good to automatically add the name of the package on the Add Comment dialog box, when checking-in a package. It helps minimize the typing when adding comments for the package.

Or some kind of setting where the user can pre-configure the text that is displayed on the Add Comment dialog box.

These are only suggestions. The product is great :-)

I think the explanation you gave us would fit well on the help of the product, IMHO.

I am about to start using EA and Team Foundation Server and this kind of information can help me to decide how to use VC and EA.

General Board / Editing .eap files through Sharepoint

Hi!

I have an EAP project stored on a Sharepoint server. When I open this project directly from the Sharepoint server, I can change the project but can't update it on the server. After the process, opening the file again shows me the old version.

Is there any special configuration to use .eap files on Sharepoint or is this an issue with Enterprise Architect?

Hi.

We are considering to publish EA on Metaframe servers, allowing our team to work on it remotely. In preliminary tests, we installed EA Corporate Edition on the server and configured our shared key file. The problem is that for every user that access the Metaframe server the window to add the keys is displayed. Is there any way to install EA on Metaframe and configure the licences file only once for all users?

We are using EA for two months now and are about to start using TFS as our version control software. Will the new version 7.1 supports Team Foundation Server 2008? Are Work Items supported too?

Hi Frank.

Yes, it really seems like an ugly bug. I will open a bug report and as possible, provide information to help the Sparx team to reproduce it.

We are at the very beginning of the works with EA and importing data from Oracle is fundamental to allow for the next steps.

Bugs and Issues / Error importing Oracle schema

Hi.

I am receiving an error message when importing an schema from an Oracle database. One of my procedures is raising me the following error:

DAO.Database [3072]
Expression too complex

I am using the native Oracle 10g ODBC Provider. What does it mean? Is there any kind of limitation when importing procedures from Oracle?

Bugs and Issues / Removing elements when generating code

Hi.

I created a class on my EA project with one method and one attribute. Then I clicked the Generate Code option to create a file with my VB.NET code. All worked ok.

After that, I removed the attribute from my class on my EA project and generated the code again. The attribute was not removed from the generated code. I tried again, this time removing the method, bu the code keeps the method when is generated.

Is this by design? I think it should not be, since this way I can't trust this Generate Code option to create my classes. If I am right, this option only appends new elements to the code but does not remove old ones.

Can anyone confirms that behaviour?

Bugs and Issues / Relationship Matrix

Hi.

I am trying to define a Relationship Matrix, but no information is displayed. That's the situation I have defined on the Relationship Matrix window:

Type = UseCase
Type = Activity

LinkType = Realisation
Direction = Source->Target

When I click the Refresh button, the UseCases appear on the left column, but nothing about my Activities is displayed. Thus, the matrix is not fulfilled.

Is it a bug or I can't really relate UseCases and Activity Diagrams?

Bugs and Issues / Upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1

Hi.

I downloaded the full setup for the 7.1 version, but could not find the patch zip file for this version. In order to upgrade my 7.0 installations, should I run the full setup over the old installations? If not, where is the upgrade file for download?
