A related question (which I do not think deserves a separate topic): I am working on an archimate model created in sparX EA 13.5 and once I have followed the advice in previous responses the regular fonts show up as they should.

Now I want to have bold fonts in some of my objects, but when I change the font to bold for  archimate 3 drivers goals, strategies or plateaus the font is reverted to regular as soon as I deselect the object. For archimate object types values and actions I am able to get a "persistent" change to bold.

I have not been able to find any difference in the properties of these objects, except of courdse their archimate type. Is there another setting somewhere that might come into play here?

Why would it be a bug? It looks to me like it works exactly as intended.
Whether that is good or bad, that is another question.

Yes, now that I know about the preference setting  I realise it works as intended.

There is a global system option located via Start->Preferences->Appearance->Bold Element Names. This makes all element names adopt a bold font weight regardless of any user-specified font weight later applied (as any reasonable user would expect!). Turn this off to remove the bold element names from ALL elements on ALL diagrams, you will then be able to set the font weight of each elements as desired.

Thanks - that helped me out!

Thank you Geert, but is it really a feature request? Is it not a bug?

Bugs and Issues / Cannot change diagram object fonts from bold to regular
« on: February 18, 2020, 01:59:41 am »
The fonts of objects in a diagram are bold even if they are set to regular. Switching between regular and bold does not result in any difference. I have tried this with archimate objects, UML classes, changes and issues and for all these object types the font does not change to regular when. However; for notes and text objects in a diagram it is possible to switch between bold and regular.

General Board / Creating overlapping subclasses in Sparx EA

How can I indicate that subclasses are overlapping (an object may be an instance of more than one of the sub classes of a parental class)?
