You are right qwerty... I kept thinking I could "draw" free format. Thanks!

Line, Directed Line, Dashed Line, etc (all Line options in the Toolbox) cannot be instantiated on the Diagram...

Bugs and Issues / Lines in whiteboard Diagram -- 14.1

I use EA 14.1 and want to draw a line (from the Toolbox -- Lines) but it only shows a "hand" but the line is not appearing. What is it I am doing wrong or is it a "not wanted feature"? In previous versions of EA I did not have this issue.

Thanks.

Suggestions and Requests / Introduce new Models
« on: February 26, 2017, 09:36:40 pm »
Hi all,

I busy making a new methodology like Archimate, Togaf. How can I make (with iconset) this model in Sparx 12.1 (Enterprise Architect)? Is there some documentation how to do this?

Thanks in advance.

I do not care what the import format should be really. Does CSV give this functionality than CSV it should be.

L-Matrix as import
---------------------

X-Ax: Clusters
Y-Ax: Entities

Crossreference: Type relationship (so the RelationshipMatrix but then as import?)

When I import data in Enterprise Architect I want it to be clustered on the Diagram as shown above. The tool BizzDesign has an option to do this. In Enterprise Architect the elements and objects are "thrown" on the Canvas and on each other. But can they be clustered and placed "inside" some sort of "Grouping" element?

What's not to understand with the Diagrams above? One has elements connected with some other elements. And the other places the elements inside some "cluster" elements....

I was using BizzDesign and they can import data and turn it with xslt to a graphical composition. So not placing objects on the diagram canvas on top off each other but clustered. Like a domain which contains objects. Like objected mapped on a template.

So:

Can EA do this??

I am new to writing Addins for EA. I do know how to program in C#, accept I will have to learn the EA objects and template.

But my question:
I have an Excel (or csv/xml) in which I have components which have relations. Now I want to import this file with an Addin and want to let EA make the Diagram based on the imported (structured) file. Als the relationships I want to be made at import. This with attributes or descriptions like: type of connection.

Is this possible and would someone get me started?

The next thing is that I want to import requirements with relations to components. But first things first...

Thanks in advance
