General Board / Re: RTF Generator Chapter Numbering

My current work around for this problem:  Create a new Paragraph Style named exactly like the corresponding style in Word ("Überschrift x" in the German version). Link the generated document into Word and let word do the numbering.

My current work around: Only use numbered lists in the linked document but not in the template. This way for every document a 'new' list is started...

General Board / RTF Documentation: how to restart numbered lists?
« on: May 26, 2006, 02:46:31 pm »
Hi,

I am having a hard time with the list numbering in the RTF Documentation.

For our use cases I want to use linked documents with numbered lists. These should restart for each element (Use Case) but they don't.

I have tried using "List and Overrides" but as I could not find any documentation for this feature I had to use try and error - unfortunatly to no avail.

Can anybody give me some advise on how to solve this or do I have to revert to either "manual numbering" or the 'named flows' described in another post?

Thanks for any help,

ciske

This works---once.  Why aren't the Generate Options settings retained within the resource document?

Open your template in the RTF Document Editor and change the settings under File=>Document Options. This way at least the settings for your current template will be saved.

Cheers,

"Is it possible to specify the order of packages, order of diagrams, and order of elements for the documentation?"

Ordering the items within the tree structure can be done by drag&drop and using the "up/down element" symbol in the tree views toolbar.  You may have to check the "Allow Free Sorting" box in the General Options to do that.

To keep this order when generating the RTF document make sure you have to selected "Tree Order" in the "Generate Options" dialog.

Hope that helps.
