No, we are using the Oracle Provider for OLE DB, same minor version as the database.

Bugs and Issues / Re: Loading EA
« on: March 16, 2017, 08:38:38 pm »
Hi, I can confirm that Oracle (11.2.0.3) performs very badly with Sparx EA. In our Enterprise WAN, the loading time of a diagram with e.g. 100 or 200 elements is 30 seconds or more. Even opening a property dialog for a single element takes 10 seconds. The worst Thing is draging & droping a multi-selection of elements from the Project browser to a diagram. It takes SECONDS for each single element and Sparx EA isn't even able to correctly maintain visual feedback (including Cursor shape) properly during this Operation.

@Geert: just because of this latency problems, we currently think about migrating our repository from Oracle to MSSQL. Do you have specific experience with that scenario or do you know of companies which successfully went this way?

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Proper Security
« on: March 16, 2017, 03:27:11 am »
As far as I understood from the Pro Cloud Server advertisment, Sparx plans to utilize the "row level security" (RLS) feature built into Oracle and MSSQL databases. From the theory, RLS will provide fine grained access control to DATABASE tables. The interesting question, however, will be how Sparx manages to ensure MODEL consistency across tables that are possibly filtered by RLS in a inconsistent way (e.g. you can see an entry in t_connector, but not the corresponding entries in t_object).

General Board / default display of classes changed?
« on: May 22, 2013, 12:48:51 am »
Has he default display of classes changed since version 9.2 (or by the latest UML version)? I notice that if I create a new class in EA 10.x, a box without a separating line (between name and attributes compartment) is shown, while in EA 9.2 a freshly created class shows the separating line by default.
Thanks for any help.
