Bugs and Issues / Re: Floating Licenses => DRP
« on: February 02, 2009, 08:36:41 pm »
Hello, I excuse me, but the problem is not really solved.

I have received extra information and will ask the question in a more accurate way.

The licenses are located in a virtual server. If a problem occurs, this virtual server will be "replaced" by a copy of this virtual server situated 10 km away. For almost all applications, this event has no impact and the applications keep running.

But if that occurs, the Mac adress would change.

So, my question is : are the floating licenses of Enterprise Architect linked on the Mac Adress ? If no, there would be indeed no problem and even nothing should be done. If yes, we should define the Mac Adress as static.

Thank you

Regards

Thanks for your answer.

But I don't understand well what you mean when you write "keep the original record of your keys" ; the key is defined in a licence server and should be released before being used in another key file.

How van we keep the keys ?

Thanks

Bugs and Issues / Floating Licenses => DRP

Hello,

My company has built 20 floating Licenses of Enterprise Architect (Corporate version).

But the company must follow a Disaster Recovery Process, which can be useful in case of disaster.

All data of the company are copied twice, once in the building and once (back-up) 10 km away.

The problem is that these floating licenses are saved in a server and now, we make a link from the computers where de tool is installed, to this repository with the floating licenses.

But in the case a disaster occurs, the link to the other server should be changed and I suppose that can be a problem for floating licenses, because a KeyStore may not be moved.

Can you give some feed-back about this issue?

Thank you very much
