Are you sure you're using the same Requirement element? Issue and Change elements look identical but have extra quicklinks defined. (I don't know why: I'll add it to my list of things to do to investigate)

Neil

Neil,

We are using the exact same EA Project.  I watched the developer use the quick linker, on the same element (Use Case to Requirement), producing a shortcut menu to choose a link type.  I, in turn, went to my machine, and did the same, and only got the one link.

Would this be a question of version?  Perhaps one version back may only quick-link with a shortcut menu to all link types, while the newest version is supposed to be "smarter?"

The available quicklinker choices depend on the type and stereotype of the source and target elements and in some cases the diagram type. Some source/target/diagram combinations only have a single connector type listed, so that is drawn automatically. What are your source and target elements and what diagram type are you using?

I am trying to associate a use case with a functional requirement in a use case diagram.  When I use the quick linker, it automatically connects things with a realization link.  The same software installed on our consulatant's machine shows up with a  quick menu giving him an option to choose a link type.  We are working on the pro version off the same EA project installed on a SQL server.

Hi All,

I'm having problems using the quicklinker function.  In the help file, the quicklinker feature is supposed to give me a dialog box to choose the link type... however it just automatically assumes the realize link.  I cannot get it to allow me to use other link types.

I was previously using the trial version, and saw this behavior.  A full version of EA installed on one of our consultant's computer performed as expected according to the documentation.  So after purchasing and installing a full version, I thought that problem would go away...

It didn't.

Any help?  I couldn't find anything in the documentation or just stumbling through the options and menus to change settings of the quicklinker except for just to enable/disable it...
