Suggestions and Requests / Association / Link diagram vis options

It would be nice to be able to select between showing associations (generalization) and links (instances).
I would often like to show that an association exists between two classes, but NOT show all the links.
Would be like summarizing 1 or more links into 1 association. Since I already show (in this case) the attributes which are (C++) pointers to another class, I don't need all the lines between the classes, just 1.
Would probably help improve resulting auto layout too.
