Suggestions and Requests / Re: EA for Apple Mac (OS X + Core Duo)

Yes please for a Apple OS X version (or one run via CodeWeaver software or something).

Enterprise Architect is the main reason for me to run Windows these days.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Better Use Case Scenario Input

Oh! One extra thing.

If the Actions are organised with links to other flows, it might be possible to automatically generate an Activity diagram (with Swinlanes) from the Actions and Alternate Flows. Or vice-versa?

Suggestions and Requests / Better Use Case Scenario Input
« on: August 15, 2006, 05:15:25 am »
I have a problem in maintaining the Use Case Scenario and Constraints. Once they get transferred to a document, I end up reformatting, re-editing and so get the Use Case information in EA out of sync with the document I generate.

What would be nice is a way to improve the Scenario input and allow some connectivity between the Main Flow and Alternate/Exception Flows.

The automated input of the Steps in a Scenario within a tabular format e.g.

Step | Actor Action | System Action

Within each Action, the User could insert a link to the Alternate/Exception flows.

Adding or inserting a new step or Alternate flows will renumber the links. Tracing the flows into and out of the Alternate flows/back into the Main flow would be nice as well.

Attaching Pre/Post snapshot diagrams to the constraints would also help in formatting the whole Use Case documentation properly.

Also the Constraints need to be able to be created within their own separate sub-sections within the Use Case document.

General Board / Re: Problems with Sparx partners

Another option is for Sparx to provide a set of Powerpoint presentations, so the potential customer can customise and present themselves.

Now I know 'Death by Powerpoint is a problem', but managers holding the purse strings still love them ;-)

Oh good stuff, we were just about to deploy the application to our Business Users as a way of keeping track of all project correspondance. I'll now await your next revision.

I've just been testing the EA Lite version 6.1.785 and I a can create a New Post but cannot add any text in the Post window.

Is this a bug or an intentional restriction?

I also have a full Corporate version of EA 6.1 on the same machine would this be affecting the Lite version?

Open the EAP file in MS Access, find the t_secpolicies table and either set the UserSecurity value to "Disabled" or just delete the record. That should fix things.

It certainly did. Am I relieved!   :)

It's good to know you can provide such excellent level of support.

Thanks.

General Board / Disabling Security
« on: November 02, 2005, 10:06:56 am »
I've done a very silly thing.

I was trying to disable security on my EAP file. Finding no 'logical' way to do it. I thought if I remove all users the security will be disabled.

Unfortunately not!

Now I still get a login prompt with no user to enter!

I cannot disable security by reentering the security ID since loading the file does not allow me to do it without logging in first!

How can I get back my file? I know, I should have backed it up! But the idea sounded right at the time  ???
