Goal Element
« on: October 09, 2012, 04:18:27 pm »
Hi All,

I am mapping a business process and I want to represent it's goal. Can someone tell me where the "Goal" element might reside in the toolbox.

Everything I have search seems to bring me back to these pages:

Goals - http://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/9.3/domain_based_models/goals.html

Business Models - http://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/9.3/domain_based_models/businessmodelling.html

I am using 9.3.933 and I am Corp Edition.

Thanks in advance

You can create a Goal element from the Diagram Toolbox by dragging the Goal icon from the Archimate 2, Motivational Concepts page, OR from the Erikson Penker Extensions page. The Archimate 2 Goal element is a special shape, whilst the EPE Goal is a Class or Object with the stereotype <<goal>>.

You can also create a simple Class or Object element and assign it the stereotype of <<goal>>. As far as I can see, the diagrams you refer us to have just that - an element and connector each with a typed-in stereotype of <<goal>>. In this case the stereotype simply acts as a label.
Best Regards, Roy

Hi RoyC,

Switching to the toolbox options, I have been able to find the required element I am after.

Thanks for the tip and quick response.
