nested elements (boundary , frame)
« on: June 20, 2007, 10:28:23 am »
hi
i would like to see an enhancement in being able to put e.g. a boundary element within another boundary. this seems not to be possible. if i have a boundary and an element within it - i can drag (as i would expect) the boundary with the element inside. but when i want to put this into another boundary - the program cannot deal with that.
* version used (v7 beta2 build 811)
greetings from vienna,
gerold.

Greetings from Ottawa Gerold,

You certainly have my vote on this one! Long overdue.
No, you can't have it!

Send the containing/parent boundary to the back (z-order) and EA will recognise the containment/nesting.

Can we do this via automation Simon? Or do we have to change the ordering of each element somehow?

Do the other DiagramObjects in the diagram automatically adjust themselves, or do I have to update the lot of them? Also, what about collisions?
