Report templates and Template Selector
« on: May 13, 2020, 10:30:32 pm »
Hi,
I'm new to the Report Builder and have now spent some time looking into the Documents Report.pdf, Help and Forum to find out how it works. I am now stuck on one issue:

I am basing my own report template on the System Template - Model Template.  I holds the info I want, but also a lot of items I don't want. I have understood how I can remove sections etc.

But, in the System Model Template, there is a line saying {Template - Template Selector}
I guess this is an embedded template, but if this is the case nothing tells me what template that is chosen. If I keep the line it I got the information I want but also items I don't, and if I delete it I don't get all info I want.

How can I find out how this works and what elements/sections etc that are included in this case?

Thankful for any guidance

See here: https://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/15.1/model_publishing/define_a_template_selector.html

But I would strong advice against this way of working.
It is much better, and in the end probably also faster, to start from a blank template and only add those things you need.

I agree that it would be better to create a new template :) and so I have.
But I couldn't find out how to define all items that I wanted. That is where I tried to look in the System Model Template, which included all items, but there is where I got stuck with the Template Selector, which I don't intend to use, I just wanted to know hat was included when I created such a report.
