DOORS Link MDG synchronise Memo tagged values

I am trying to synchronise acceptance criteria for requirements between DOORS and EA using the DOORS Link MDG.  Our acceptance criteria are currently planned to be authored in EA and stored as tagged values of the Memo type as they are often over 255 characters.

When exporting from EA to DOORS, all that gets populated in the attribute is "<memo>"

If I export from DOORS to EA, my requirements that didn't have an acceptance crtiteria tagged value get one created (of the Memo) type, but no text is transferred from DOORS to EA for those that had text set in the attribute.  Also one which had previously been set in EA does not have its text overridden with the "<memo>" text contained in DOORS. 

Has anyone successfully achieved this before, or can suggest a suitable approach (we are trying to avoid the Notes section in EA for acceptance criteria)
