No "Team Foundation Server" Menu on Package
« on: October 17, 2012, 06:17:23 pm »
Hi.
I try to synchronize with TFS Work Items and am following the description of the whitepaper MDGIntegrationVS4.pdf. I have EA9.0 with the latest MDG Integration for Visual Studio. It does run, the packages are linked to VS projects, I have already connected Source code and synchronized back and forth, everything ok.

Now I need to Sync WorkItems from TFS. In Page 29, chapter 4 of the said white paper I read: “In the EA Project Explorer, right-click on the required package and select the Team Foundation Server | Import Work Items context menu option. The Select Queries dialog displays.”

Unfortunately there is no such Menu item “Team Foundation Server”. What is wrong? Answer quite urgent.
Thanks
Patrick

No not yet. I have contacted Sparx support and am waiting for a reply from their side.

The EA Project Explorer that the documentation refers isn't the EA Project Browser, but the EA Project Explorer integrated into Visual Studio. In this browser the menu is available.

And take care with the page 31 of the same whitepaper, because you've got to use the "Team Foundation Server -> Work Item View" and "Connect" button to connect EA with TFS prior the WorkItems import/synch.

Regards,

Luis.

Thanks for the clarification. In the meantime I found that problem (the whitepaper could be more explicit and save us from such stumbling blocks...)

For me also quite confusing as the description comes later... Well ok, this point, too, I found it in the meantime. However I cann clilck on "Connect" one only time. It seems the data I provided didn't allow him to really connect to my tfs server. The problem now, however, is, that hitting on the "Connect"-button again doesn't call the dialog any longer. Nothing happens. But it is not connected, all other buttons next to it are disabled and the work items cannot be connected.
Many thanks if you have any help for me. I have tried with support of EA both in Europa and in Australia for quite a while and keep stuck in that problem.

Hi to everybody
It's nearly 2 years ago, but still the same problem:
Try to connect to TFS by the Work Items View of a package in Visual Studio via MDG Integration.
You get once the configuration for the TFS connection. You click ok (connect). And you never get again the chance to introduce the configuration information, nor any hint what was wrong with the login. Only solution: Create a new EAP file :(

HOW TO CONNECT?
