BPMN 1.1: Disfunctional connector labels
« on: December 03, 2010, 10:30:24 pm »
(Build 864, corporate edition)

Label visibility for Sequence Flow and Message Flow connectors in BPMN 1.1 diagrams does not work at all.

Create a BPMN 1.1 diagram, drag two activities onto it. Connect them via Sequence Flow. Open the properties dialog for the connector and type something into the "Guard" field.

The guard text won't be visible on the diagram.

Open the label visibility dialog for the connector and change something. Confirm and close (OK button) and open again. Nothing will have changed (label visibility settings are not being saved).

Reported.

Only workaraound seems to be to use the name of the connector instead of the guard. Which is crap, of course.

One question: are you patient ? :)

My first enquiry (3.2010) have reference number 10035032.
And isn't realized, even though I suggest how to fix.
My next five entry - too.

Lets count... 10117728-10035032 = 82696
Let 50% was repeated...
Let one enquiry take one day to realize...
Let Sparx work every day 24/7
Then
40.000 days= 109 years ... circa ;)

Have a nice day :)

Yeah, don't do that. For BPMN properties, use the tagged values provided - in this case "ConditionExpression".

OK, this works. Still the behaviour of the label visibilty dialog for Sequence Flow and Message Flow is pretty weird.

@Michal C - oh, you don't have to wait that many years. The first four digits of the log number are actually the year and month, and the remaining digits are a counter that started a long time ago, not just at the start of 2010.
Best Regards, Roy

@RoyC - Now we have 2013.

From version 7 EA (in 2008) to today (2013) we have ver 10 EA, but still with not corrected issues...

And the form "Comparision Database" (from "Compare" in Generate Package DDL) with still bad resizing is the number one over world.

Tell me - only one thing - when (number of year) this form is planned for correction.

Have a nice day.
