Windows Authentication
« on: January 08, 2016, 12:53:23 am »
Hi,

Until now we imported users from Active Directory to manage the users of the repository, and the login is something like "DOMAIN\WindowsUserName".

The latest version of EA 12.1 b1225 allows to import and sync users via Active Directory groups, which are linked to EA security groups. But when users are imported in this way, the login has another form, "Firstname.Lastname" and the Windows Authentication doesn't work anymore. Users must enter a password, but it doesn't seem to be the Windows password.

Is this a bug in the new feature or is there something we are doing wrong?

Does anyone else experience the same problem as I have?

Or can someone (from Sparx Systems) confirm that this is a issue?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards.

Hi there, what you describe sounds like you are seeing the User Principal Name (UPN) rather than the sAMAccountName.

You're also more likely to get an answer if you also explain what database technology you're using.

Hi,

Sorry, I was not aware that the database technology could be of any influence.

We are using MS SQL Server.
